West coast favorite The Game and Chi-town's Louis Vuitton Don, Kanye West, have teamed up again to bring music heads some straight up hip-hop hotness. The Game's easy flow and Kanye's trademark old school flava makes this an instant hit. As if it couldn't get any better, The Game uses Wouldn’t Get Far as a platform to shout out fallen west coast legend, Tupac. After all, the two have plenty in common; they both have a soft spot for video vixens.

Still I'm a bit confused about why this particular tool? I'm not convinced it offers anything other than presets that isn't covered by some other more powerful tools or what can be achieved by chaining a few together.
The genius of “Fade,” the penultimate track on Kanye West’s living work of art, “The Life of Pablo,” is evident from the opening lines, a sample from the white Motown group Rare Earth. But it was a half-minute in, at that first unmistakable rip of bass, that I lost my mind. Like many of West’s songs, “Fade” is built around several commingling samples. Its rhythmic backbone is the deceptively simple arrangement from the 1985 classic “Mystery of Love,” by Larry Heard, better known as Mr. Fingers. That track, along with a handful of others, marks a seminal moment in the history of deep house — a rich and criminally neglected chapter in the book of black music.
TAYLOR SWIFT: To say Taylor Swift had a remarkable year would be a comic understatement. She sold more albums than any artist not named Michael Jackson. Her first headlining tour, Fearless 2009, sold out every show within minutes. She became the youngest woman to win the Country Music Association's entertainer of the year award, and she set seemingly every chart record that exists. But most important, she proved herself a graceful, timeless celebrity, handling hosting duties on "Saturday Night Live" and a rampaging Kanye West at the MTV Video Music Awards with equal aplomb.

Like previous games in the Grand Theft Auto series, Grand Theft Auto IV features a soundtrack that can be heard through radio stations while the player is in a vehicle. Liberty City is serviced by 19 radio stations, three of which are talk radio stations. The other stations feature music from a large range of genres, including tracks from Genesis, David Bowie, Bob Marley, The Who, Queen, Kanye West and Elton John.
Soundcloud | Facebook | Twitter | InstagramAfter spending years as Kanye West's tour DJ and consigliere, he founded the celebrated record label Fool's Gold in 2007 and developed the careers of artists such as Kid Cudi, Danny Brown and Flosstradamus. With its string of releases and parties, Fool's Gold broke down bygone rules of the record industry, paving the way for anew wave of independents and helping to make North American electro a dominating force. As a Grammy-nominated producer, A-Trak's seminal mix of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs' "Heads Will Roll" marked an entire generation's introduction to dance music. Duck Sauce, his irreverent collaboration with Armand Van Helden, flipped the bird to chart-topping formulas and reached #1 in 12 countries with the ubiquitous "Barbra Streisand", electronic music's first true viral music video. A-Trak easily segues from working with EDM's elite to revitalizing rap superheroes, launching Federal Reserve with Cam'ron and Low Pros with Lex Luger. He casually picked up 3 VMA nominations along the way.

POWER OF ZEUS-THE GOSPEL ACCORDING TO ZEUS ( heavy psych/funk-rock 1970) SAALE -Label: MR. BONGO Seminal heavy psych/funk-rock album originally released on Rare Earth in 1970. Featuring the monster breakbeat on 'The Sorcerer Of Isis'. Formed in Detroit in 1968, Power Of Zeus became the first rock band to be signed by Motown subsidiary label Rare Earth. The group drew inspiration from British hard rock and heavy metal giants like Cream, Black Sabbath, and Led Zeppelin when they created this well-produced, seminal post-hard rock album. After 'The Gospel According To Zeus', the group never made another album and the band slipped into obscurity, until it was discovered by the hip hop diggers. The drum beat from 'The Sorcerer Of Isis' has been one of the most sampled in hip-hop music, including KRS-One, Kanye West, Jay-Z, Cyprus Hill, A Tribe Called Quest and Eminem to name a few. Half-speed mastered by Miles Showell at Abbey Road Studios, London. Transferred from 2 x 1/4" analog reels at 192kHz/24-bit.
Recalled how she faced death threats for booking West as a headliner in 2021
Ever wondered how Kanye West rose to stardom? By far, one of the most polarizing figures in rap music over the last decade has been Kanye West. Originally exploding onto the music scene as a hotheaded young rapper with fiery passion and incredibly insightful lyrics, West quickly became one of the biggest figures in the genre. With each successive album, West proved that he was unafraid of blurring the lines between rap music and other genres, such as rock and pop music. However, with fame came a flood of negative media attention, mostly stemming from the artist’s volatile behavior, which including public outbursts, on-stage rants, and unsettlingly egotistical interviews. For more interesting facts you must read the biography.

Mike Lévy, known professionally as Gesaffelstein, is a French record producer and DJ. His remix of “Shockwave” by The Hacker is featured in the 2021 video game Grand Theft Auto V, on the Soulwax FM radio station. In 2021, Gesaffelstein released the single “Conquistador” in collaboration with Jean-Michel Jarre and also produced the soundtrack for the 2021 film Maryland. In early 2021, he produced the tracks “I Was Never There” and “Hurt You” from The Weeknd’s My Dear Melancholy, EP.

The ability of popular art to offer societal critiques and challenge received ideas has been recognized throughout history. Through rap and hip-hop, composers, singers, and entertainers have recently provided a voice questioning and challenging the sanctioned view of the times. This book offers an in-depth reading of the works and cultural impact of Kanye West. Looking at the moral and social implications of West's words, images, and music in the broader context of Western civilization's preconceived ideas, the contributors consider how West both challenges religious and moral norms and propagates them.
To preface all this, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy isn’t a return to form to West’s more afro-centric production that we heard circa early the 2000s, when he primarily pitch-shifted old soul samples. But neither is it overly preachy and filled with see the light nonsense like Late Registration was (2005). Before Graduation (2007) was released, many were worried that Kanye had lost his mind when the lead single “Stronger” featured a Daft Punk sample, despite the wonders he did with it (his talent is for composition, as always). So for those of you still scratching your head at the man’s musical choices, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy features both samples of Bon Iver and Aphex Twin.

In January 2021, Southside produced "Millions" - the lead single from Pusha T's mixtape Wrath of Caine. The music video for the song was released on February 10. The song sparked controversy when producer Rico Beats was asked to modify Southside's instrumental for the final version of the song. Southside wasn't notified of the changes, which led to the two producers exchanging threats over Twitter. In Wrath of Caine's official tracklist, Kanye West is credited as co-producer, instead of Rico Beats. Also in 2021, Southside & TM88 produced the song "Tapout" by Birdman for his album Rich Gang: Flashy Lifestyle. The song peaked at #44 on the Billboard Hot 100 and have been certified Gold By The RIAA.
The Triumph claims to be "The Ultimate Media Machine," but the things that make it a media machine, ultimate or otherwise, failed to keep up. We will, however, concede that this it performed well in terms of playback, both audio and visual. Colors were rich and vibrant, viewing angles were more than serviceable, and once loaded, Kanye West's Runaway played on without incident. As if its name and superlative media playing claims weren't enough to send us into a hyperbolic spasm, Motorola's also promised an "astounding audio experience" with "crystal clear speakers," sans headphones. Sure, Ike and Tina's River Deep, Mountain High came across loud and less muffled than we'd expected, but Phil Spector's wall of sound is much better suited - as we'd expect most music is - to a real-deal stereo system.

T-Pain became so associated with Auto-Tune that he had an iPhone App named after him that simulated the effect, called “I Am T-Pain. Eventually dubbed the “T-Pain effect”, the use of Auto-Tune became a popular fixture of late 2000s music, where it was notably used in other hip hop/R&B artists’ works, including Snoop Dogg’s single “Sexual Eruption”, Lil Wayne’s “Lollipop”, and Kanye West’s album 808s & Heartbreak. In 2009, riding on the wave of Auto-Tune’s popularity, The Black Eyed Peas’ number-one hit, “Boom Boom Pow”, made heavy use of Auto-Tune on all the group’s vocals to create a futuristic sound.

So for me, in my life and creativity it’s been challenging yeah, it’s been challenging and everything. But I was able to ascend to massive heights because of the foundation that my mother and my father and my grandfather laid through civil rights, what Michael Jackson did with music videos and the ground he broke. There would be no Kanye West if it wasn’t for Michael Jackson – that allowed him to be that, right?

Key word is "most successful artists"? What will make you consider an artist successful? I would say Grammy's won, albums sold, how popular their concerts are, Billboard performance etc.
Occasionally Yeezy doesn’t want to break in a new name, and will instead hire Coldplay’s Chris Martin to sing the hook and pound out a rave-piano loop for three and a half minutes. The cross-promotion brought “Homecoming” all the way to No. 9 on the UK charts, which is odd considering it’s essentially a two-verse love letter to Ye’s deep love for Chicago. It might not stack up to the “Empire State of Minds” of the world, but it’s close.

Every music fan has stories like this. There's a delicious, productive tension at the heart of a pop song, between the personal and the universal, which anyone who's fretted over a mixtape will grasp intuitively. No other popular art form relies so much on the first person, which makes pop a vehicle for the most intense self-expression, not just by the people who make it but by the ones who listen to it.

I fully expect someone to eventually turn up from either Nigeria or Ghana and make a shitload of money but international sounds need to be aligned first - London club music can drift a lot closer to this stuff, and there's going to be a consistently large level of expat interest, especially in London. D'Banj was supposed to be that guy (like he was literally hanging out with Kanye West) but that obviously didn't happen. Fuse ODG came up from London and had genuine hits and consistent Radio 1 airplay but I don't think he was ever going to be a particularly durable pop star. Naija pop in particular is easier to turn into actual pop than dancehall is, it's far from impossible to imagine a particularly melodic song going supernova either by accident or design - if it's the latter then the right figure just needs to come along.

Chicago has been a hotbed for Hip Hop talent, going back to artists like Common and Twista. Recently, there have been other huge success stories from the Windy City, like Kanye West, and Lupe Fiasco, but Rockie Fresh is a part of an even younger breed of Chicagoan’s, influenced by those before them, but bringing something completely different to the table. Coming with his own brand of Hip Hop with a heavy alternative influence. Rockie is attempting to not just bring something new to Chicago or MMG, but to the game as a whole. Fresh off his the release of his “Birthday Tape,” Rockie took time out to talk with HipHopDX about his most recent project, alternative music, Derrick Rose, and MMG among other things.

Hip-hop was a genre that first went super-mainstream when it was combined with another genre— namely, when Run-DMC collaborated with Aerosmtih on a cover of “Walk This Way” in 1986. And given that fact, rap artists have long felt the urge to mix their music with a variety of other types of music. It’s hard to think of another artist who maximized that tradition as much on one album as Kanye West did on MBDTF, though.
The Maybach Exelero is most known for its exceptionally glamorous exterior, almost as much as it is for its hefty price tag. The Exelero is such a smooth ride through and through, from its sleek edges to its insane handling. Jay-Z has been reported to be very particular about keeping his car impeccably clean up until its last days in his possession. His luxury chariot was priced to be worth a whopping $350,000 brand new. And why wouldn’t he provide only the best ride for his queen? What’s most interesting about the story of Jay-Z’s Maybach is not how he came to select this car but what fate he’d chosen for it. He and Kanye West destroyed the Maybach in a music video for the song, Otis. The duo had pieces of the Maybach sawed clear off of it; the doors were removed, and the fenders were replaced with rough-looking custom replacements. Afterward, the car was sold in an auction for $60,000, and the proceeds were donated to charity. But the donation only softens the pain for a car enthusiast. For many, a Maybach is considered an artful, high-performance luxury vehicle.

Streaming is the new digital gold rush, and just like with the original edition, there's no shortage of grifters. Competition is fierce, but in 2021, Beyonce's husband and minor celebrity in his own right Jay Z decided to wade right in with a $56 million investment in Tidal. The music streaming platform's big selling point was that Jay Z, Beyonce, and Kanye West would initially make all their new work exclusive to it. Beyonce's Lemonade and Kanye's The Life Of Pablo managed to earn the duo $6 million in royalties from the plays they accumulated during their period of exclusivity. This was enough to make investors sit up, take notice, and strongly consider putting up with Kanye in order to get a seat on the bandwagon.
Flux Pavilion (real name Joshua Steele) has already made major contributions to the dubstep genre at a young age. In 2009, the British producer teamed up with childhood friend Doctor P and others to form the Circus Records music label. Flux then released his first project, at just 19 years old, in 2009. The track “I Can’t Stop,” off of his 2021 project Lines In Wax, proved to be a breakout hit for the young up-and-comer. When this track was sampled by Jay-Z and Kanye West on their 2021 Watch The Throne album, Flux’s fame only grew. He released his first official album, Tesla, in 2021.
The song was recorded at the “Ocean Way Recording“ studio complex which was located at 6000 Sunset Boulevard and 6050 Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood with Whitney’s vocals being recorded in studio 2. The main building was built in 1900 and was once the soundstage used by Douglas Fairbanks. Bill Putnam, a famous audio engineer, songwriter, producer, studio designer and businessman who lived from 1920 until 1989 and has been described as “the father of modern recording” bought the building in 1959 as well as another building nearby and combined them into his “United Western Recorders”. Allen Sides then bought the complex and renamed it to “Ocean Way Recording“ in 1988. The building at 6000 Sunset Boulevard was sold in 1999 and from then on operated as “Cello Studios“ until 2005; after it changed its ownership and was renovated, it re-opened in 2009 as “EastWest Studios“ and has received over 120 Grammy nominations for music recorded there. The remaining “Ocean Way Recording“ building was sold and renamed to “United Recording Studios“ in 2021; according to the oceanwayrecording.com website, the studio at 6050 Sunset Boulevard is owned and operated by “Hudson Pacific Properties“ at the time of this recording. The “Ocean Way Hollywood“ studio consisted of four different studios A, B, C and D: Studios A and B could accommodate up to 50 musicians and were designed by Bill Putnam. Studio C was a small multi-purpose mix and edit room. And studio D was a large mix room designed by Allen Sides. Over the years, this studio complex has been one of the most famous and successful in the world where the world’s biggest stars recorded countless famous songs. To give you an idea how big the role they played was, here are just a few examples of albums that were recorded there in addition to “The Bodyguard” soundtrack: Michael Jackson – Thriller, Bad, Dangerous and History, Natalie Cole – Unforgettable, Dr. Dre – 2001, Madonna – Ray of Light, Mariah Carey – Rainbow and Kanye West – Late Registration.
Kanye West was initially famous as a producer. He makes beats for other stellar rappers Talib Kweli, Mos Def, Ludacris, Alicia Keys and Beyonce. The Jay-Z's album Blueprint which is cooperated with Kanye West has become a top selling and album. After that, he wants to be an independent music maker and hip-hop singer. Exultantly absurd, a banger and mash of reconstituted Vine clips, reappropriated raps and throwback hip-hop rhythm. Among its allusions: Slick Rick, Wu-Tang Clan, Kelis, Fetty Wap, Dionne Warwick, Mary J. Blige. If Kanye West had dropped this number, everyone'd be marvelling at his daring. Most of pop music rests on giddy juvenilia, and Sausage is assured, virtuosic, the magpie act of a brilliant collagist.

Him being a jerk and a moron is as common knowledge as the Earth not being flat. Oh wait, that too is still under debate in some circles.
In September 2007 Jackson released his third album, Curtis, which was inspired by his life before Get Rich or Die Tryin'. It debuted at number two on the Billboard 200, selling 691,000 copies during its first week (behind Kanye West's Graduation, released the same day). On the September 10, 2008 episode of Total Request Live Jackson said his fourth studio album, Before I Self Destruct, would be "done and released in November". He released "Ok, You're Right", produced by Dr. Dre for Before I Self Destruct, on May 18, 2009 and was scheduled to appear in a fall 2009 episode of VH1's Behind the Music. On September 3, 2009 Jackson posted a video for the Soundkillers' Phoenix- produced track, "Flight 187", introducing his mixtape and book (The 50th Law). The song, with lyrics inspiring speculation about tension between Jackson and Jay Z, was a bonus track on the iTunes version of Before I Self Destruct.
The dude is obviously a clown but isn't it possible, since he is planning on suing The Pirate Bay, he was checking it out? Where does it suggest he actually did it? An open tab could mean anything. Logically, if I was hanging around with my boys and we were talking about suing, the ease of which to find and download stuff would come up.
Stevie Wonder’s legacy ranks among the most powerful in pop music, though his story remains elusive. His songwriting and his voice echo through virtually all R&B-related sounds that have followed him, from Michael Jackson to R. Kelly to Kanye West, yet there is no major biography, no documentary, nothing that presents the full sweep of the most dominant and defining artist of the 1970s. And make no mistake—it was an era of superstar acts and chart-busting albums, but no one was as universally loved, respected, and honored as he was.

It’s classic backpack Kanye — a return to his human roots, far removed from the deifying effects of the fashion industry. In a way, “Real Friends” was the most radical thing Kanye could’ve done after “Yeezus” and “My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy;” talking on the TV like it’s just you and me.
In 2005, Jay Z came out of retirement for the I Declare War concert in New York City. The ambitious show featured a parade of high-profile guest stars, including Diddy and Kanye West, and in a peacemaking move, Nas. With this longstanding beef squashed, Jay Z announced he was coming out of retirement for good. He made it official when Kingdom Come (2006) hit shelves. Jay Z kept firing with American Gangster (2007), inspired by the concurrent film of the same name. After he left Def Jam and established Roc Nation — a label, music publisher, and talent agency through Live Nation — he released a third installment in the Blueprint series, The Blueprint 3 (2009).
Following the release of Graduation, the next couple of years were the most difficult for Kanye West. He lost his mother, broke up with his longtime fiancée Alexis Phifer and relatively felt like he was alone. To cope with everything that was going on in his life, Kanye musically went left and released the emotional effort 808s & Heartbreak. The LP stands as one of the most influential albums in hip-hop history. A standout on the album is "Paranoid," which features Mr Hudson. The production is handled by Jeff Bhasker and Plain Pat, while co-written by Consequence and Kid Cudi. The song is also probably the closet thing on the album to traditional rap.
All drums were recorded at Abbey Road Studios in London, UK, using period equipment and recording techniques. He is currently signed to Warp Records and is a founding member of the LuckyMe collective.
Any year Kanye West (https://dybdoska.ru/hack/?patch=972) drops an album, he’s going to be in discussion for best rapper of the year. Truth be told however, the best thing about Yeezus wasn’t Kanye’s lyrics but the incredible music (https://dybdoska.ru/hack/?patch=8235) backing them.
The youngest DJ to ever win the DMC World DJ Championships, all three major DJ competition titles (DMC, ITF and Vestax), and the first to win five World Championships, DJ A-Trak's run during the late 1990s is unparalleled. Becoming Kanye West's tour DJ in 2004, A-Trak founded Fool's Gold Records with Nick Catchdubs and Dust La Rock in 2007, which become one of the most influential and diverse imprints in music. And with his ties to rap stars like Jay-Z, Lupe Fiasco, Kid Cudi, Juicy J, Danny Brown, Run–DMC, The Roots and more, A-Trak's credentials within the culture are certified.
A singer-songwriter, guitarist and record producer, Cudi is signed under his own record label, Wicked Awesome Records and Republic Records. He first gained major attention after the release of his first official full-length project, a mixtape titled A Kid Named Cudi (2008). This resulted in him signing with Kanye West's record label GOOD Music in the Fall of 2008.
According to numerous outlets, including XXL and HipHopDX, much of Kanye West's discography was mysteriously removed from his artist page on Apple Music. At the time of publication, some of the albums have been restored but some core projects from Kanye's catalog are missing, including College Dropout, 808s & Heartbreak, and Cruel Summer. These albums remain available for people who have previously downloaded them.

Ever wondered how Kanye West and Jay Z rose to stardom? By far, one of the most polarizing figures in rap music over the last decade has been Kanye West. Originally exploding onto the music scene as a hotheaded young rapper with fiery passion and incredibly insightful lyrics, West quickly became one of the biggest figures in the genre. With each successive album, West proved that he was unafraid of blurring the lines between rap music and other genres, such as rock and pop music. When he was young, Shawn Carter used to sneak away from the putrid halls of his ratty Brooklyn apartment to walk the busy streets of a city alive with success. The young boy who grew up in the shadow of the towering skyscrapers of New York City ascended to the pinnacle of music recognition through hard work and determination. As the subject of one of the first and most famous rap rags to riches stories, rapper Jay Z’s career has had an influential impact on a new generation of rappers who cite the rap godfather’s passion and hard-working attitude as inspiration for their own career paths. For more interesting facts you must read the biographies.
The Yoga 710 produced clear, loud sound. When I listened to Kanye West's "Runaway," the laptop immediately filled our testing labs with music. The song's keyboards and percussion were crisp and balanced.
This means that he and his team, on a regular basis, pack their high-tech equipment to travel to live performances of famous artists to record them live on stage. Also, Peter’s company offers engineering and production services for radio broadcasts as well as music recording and post-production services for major television broadcasts. In addition to Whitney Houston, Peter has worked with The Rolling Stones, the Bee Gees, Prince, The Police, Sheryl Crow, James Brown and Kanye West to name just a very small group of his clients. The list would go on and on. Seriously.
Why We’re Excited: It’s hard to believe that in a year when Kanye West produced five albums — two of which he starred on and all but one he appeared on — in just under a month that our focus would be on everything but his music. But Kanye tweeting at odd hours and wandering, sadly and quite literally, in front of television cameras speaking incoherently like a person off his meds stole the show.
I just think that I’m a production person, I’m a product guy, I’m a producer. So if I’m working on a John Legend album, I’m gonna try to give John Legend the best home for him to stay in. And I’m gonna try to push Pusha T — no pun intended once again, this keeps happening to me — to make the thing that represents what I like about his music the most. And then for me as Kanye West, I gotta fuck shit up. (laughs) Ah-ha-ha!
One of the most critically acclaimed rappers in history, Kanye West's creative and wide-reaching musical styles have broken barriers. His success in the fashion industry has also added to his immense net worth, as well as his marriage to Kim Kardashian. West has released 9 studio albums, with most of those going multi-platinum and topping the charts for weeks to months. He's sold over 100 million records worldwide, placing at in the top five of the richest rappers in history. Kanye West regularly tops critics' lists of greatest albums and rappers of all time. But, as you may know, Kanye's out-sized fortune mostly comes from non-musical endeavors. His Yeezy apparel partnership with Adidas has resulted in a brand that reportedly generates over $1 billion in revenue per year, paying Kanye a 2021 royalty of $100-115 million. Kanye has said in a number of interviews that he is already a billionaire because Yeezy is worth $4 billion.

I can hardly breathe, laughing too hard while reading this. Kanye has failed himself in the most hypocritical and spectacular way.

Chicago, IL - (ArriveNet - Jan 30, 2006) -While Chicago is famous for the blues and jazz that came up from Mississippi during the Great Migration, its hip hop scene in recent years has emerged with the same soulfulness and relevance that its musical predecessors had. While Kanye West has managed the impossible by converting the barbershop flavor of Chicago into MTV content, for those people in and around Chicago, it is the underground college radio and vinyl network that keeps real heads tuned in and staying creative.
I haven't heard a bad Sampha song yet. For those not in the know, Sampha is a UK born singer who has provided hooks and additional backing vocals for artists such as Drake, Kanye West and Solange Knowles just to name a few. Drake is nowhere to be found on this track. This is strictly the Sampha show and it works to Sampha's advantage cause this will definitely mean more people will check out his music when they hear this track. A definite highlight on "More Life". Be sure to check out Sampha's latest project "Process" here as well.
Kanye West - Can´t Tell Me Nothing Mixtape
Remember on Kanye’s first album, where he spent about five minutes at the end of that one track talking so endearingly about signing to Roc-a-fella, and about him and his mum going to Ikea? This is MBDTF’s resigned equivalent, with Kanye mumbling face down in a slurry of synths, cocaine and regret.
Music was something that came pretty naturally to Hazy, however, he never expected to end up making music, or at least, not to the degree that he is now. He has a deep rooted love for hip hop and spoken word having previously been a writer and found that lyrics were where his love lied, finding inspirations from artists like Lupe Fiasco, early Kanye West, and Tech N9ne, but having a respect for the instrumentals instilled in him from loving rock bands that tended to be much heavier than his rap taste. Nirvana, Marilyn Manson, Avenged Sevenfold, Korn, Mushroomhead, Slipknot and more gave him the raw emotion he sought in music and showed him how to harness deep emotions into vocals and how to harness his energies. With his love of electronic producers like Flux Pavilion, Zedd, Cookie Monstah, and Doctor P showed him a love for bass he will never top. He blends all of his favorite nuances of music, every detail of each genre he loves respectively, and he blends them into something powerful, new, and exciting. His imaginings intensified, anxieties amplified, madness magnified, and chaos refined, a look at life through this man's eyes may leave you with more than you bargained for. He might just get stuck in YOUR head too.
What more can be said about Kanye West’s magnum opus that hasn’t been said to date? And we know, calling something a magnum opus is the biggest cliche in music writing, but if ever an album deserved it, it’s My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. The lead-up to the album involved outbursts on chat shows and Twitter, leaked nude pictures, and surprise performances at Facebook’s office and over the tannoy on a Delta Airlines flight. It didn’t do videos; instead, we had a thirty minute promotional film built around ‘Runaway’ and a “moving portrait” for ‘Power’. It was the biggest album of the year before it even came out.
A native of Sweden, Ahlgren has been making movies since he was a teenager — working with a Hi8 video camera and friends willing to be splattered in ketchup. As a cinematography student at the School of Visual Arts in New York, he shot just about any student film that would allow him, which lead to a start in commercials and music videos. After spending a decade working on campaigns for major brands all over the world and on music videos for artists such as The Rolling Stones, Beyonce and Kanye West, he moved into long-form storytelling with independent features and television. His credits include the Netflix series Altered Carbon, House of Cards and Daredevil, as well as the pilot episodes for Blindspot and NOS4A2.
Around the same time, Kanye declared in an interview that he never listened to rap music at home because he felt his apartment was too nice for rap. Delusional or brilliant, Kanye has long been obsessed with guffawing at reality; while he’s often dismissed as arrogant, his wild-eyed obsession with overfeeding his legacy has shoved hip-hop into new grandiose frontiers. Graduation is a great hip-hop record and 808s and Heartbreak is conceptually sound and showcased West’s bent for forging new territory, but My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy was Kanye’s fine art. With MBDTF Kanye wanted to create an heirloom, a record that would be right at home at the Louvre.

Additionally, with the worldwide explosion of EDM, a new category for “Best Electronic Dance Music Video” has been added. Other notable VMA nominees this year include Kanye West, Gotye, Black Keys, Beyoncé, Skrillex, Frank Ocean, fun, Watch The Throne, Chris Brown, Justin Bieber, Lana Del Ray, Avicii, One Direction, Childish Gambino, Usher and more. MTV will announce additional performers and presenters at a later date.
BUT, I also strongly dislike hypocrites. And he appears to be a strong one.
After a handful of album covers featuring the Dropout Bear and a simple, Kaws-designed image for 808s & Heartbreak, Kanye West transitioned into high-concept art for My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. Teaming with artist George Condo for a series of paintings, the rapper matched the widescreen brilliance of the album’s music with boundary-cracking art, including a controversial image of a demonic West being straddled by a nude angel.
Even that would have been fairly embarrassing, revealing that West turns to YouTube when he wants to hear a song. As one of the stars involved in the high-profile relaunch of music streaming service Tidal, which was explicitly sold on the need to give artists a fair share of the revenue of music streaming, that seems to be an odd choice.
But now “indie” is more widely used to signify a certain sound. Even so, the records on this list are far from uniform in style. Here you’ll find everything from Madrid garage rock to pop-tinged dance rock to rollicking folk, but they’re all indie in spirit. Some artists on this list, like Arcade Fire and Vampire Weekend, graduated long ago from independent labels, but they still—believe it or not—fly under the radar when it comes to the larger sphere of pop music. You can find other artists, like The Beths and Weyes Blood, still playing clubs. Meanwhile, Bon Iver collaborated with Kanye West in the 2010s, and Courtney Barnett landed on Barack Obama’s 2021 playlist. This is all to say that indie rock is a relative term that fluctuates from year to year. But it’s some of the music we love most here at Paste, the guitar music made by underdogs, the modern rock classics made by unlikely heroes. With so much change happening constantly in the music industry in the past 10 years, this list could’ve looked a thousand different ways. But these are the indie rock albums we loved the most, as voted by the Paste staff.
ET) – Love it or hate it, Auto-Tune has changed pop music. From Cher's "Believe" to Kanye West's "Love Lockdown," the sound has penetrated the globe and revolutionized music since its invention in 1997. Some say the pitch-correction technology has ruined music, while others have found fame by using the tool creatively. Tracing Auto-Tune's roots to predecessors like the synthesizer, the good, the bad, and the ugly of this game-changing technology is revealed, grounded in a personal account of Auto-Tune's most famous user, T-Pain. This episode also features interviews with Auto-Tune inventor Dr. Andy Hildebrand, British record producer Ken Scott (producer and engineer for The Beatles and some of David Bowie’s biggest albums), and synthesizer pioneer Suzanne Ciani. Directed by Jared Raab (NIRVANNA THE BAND THE SHOW).
Like all net worth estimations, some of this is based on fickle market speculation. However, Yeezy’s high-profile deals with Adidas and Gap have launched its value into the neighborhood of $3/2 to $4/7 billion. Since West remains the sole owner of the company, that money can be attributed to his personal net worth, which also includes another $1/9 billion from his music catalog, personal cash and stock, and other assets (like that $500,000 luxury tank he showed off last year).

With Kanye West describing ‘The Life Of Pablo’ as “a living breathing changing creative expression #contemporaryart”, a new era of music has been ushered in eagerly. Given the dominance of streaming services granting a greater ease of distribution than traditionally printing records, artists are able to patch and update their music like software. Using the risky #contemporaryart hashtag further evidences West’s belief that he is a creative visionary like Picasso paving the way for the future’s influential figures of art and culture. As arrogant and delusional as he sounds there, to use his own lyrics from ‘Feedback’, “Name one genius that ain’t crazy”.
At this point in 2021 Arca is widely recognised as a charismatic presence among the avant-garde. But even before he strutted into the spotlight, with knee-high leather boots and a whip in hand, he’d already caused a ripple across contemporary music. His genreless, slippery instrumentals provided a much-needed burst of future shock during a time when conversations about electronic music were brimming with anxiety about a perceived lack of new ideas. Off the back of early releases, Ghersi was enlisted to work on Kanye West’s Yeezus and FKA twigs’ signature sound as well as the swirling soundscapes of Björk’s heartbreak epic Vulnicura. Arca’s studio albums Xen and Mutant – released in 2021 and 2021, respectively – saw him further explore rhythmic experimentation, textural intensity, and gender-subverting concepts. Now, Ghersi’s personality was in the limelight, and his star appeal had become clear. But in order to unlock the seminal work of art that was brewing inside him, there was still something he had to confront.
Tidal is still trying to bounce back. In 2021 the company had a big—but allegedly overstated—boost in subscribers from Beyoncé’s Lemonade, Kanye West’s The Life of Pablo, and Rihanna’s ANTI. It had another boost this past summer with The Carters’ Everything is Love. But many of these customers left once the 30-day free trial ended or complained on Twitter when they forgot to cancel their membership. Most other music streaming services have long since moved on from the once-popular exclusive album strategy.
Enter Aubrey Graham, Young Money artist and pop-rap-R&B hybrid. The Canadian actor starred as an injured hoopster on teen drama DeGrassi in the early 2000âs, and made the transition from acting to music circa â06. His 2008 mixtape So Far Gone made waves, and the man we now know as Drake was signed to Lil Wayneâs Young Money record label in 2009. His infectious R&B-toned âBest I Ever Hadâ caused teenage girls to swoon, and his hit âForeverâ featuring big-timers Kanye West, Eminem, and Lil Wayne infiltrated the radio off the bat. Now, after much anticipation, he drops his debut studio album Thank Me Later. Does it live up to all the hype?
American hip-hop musician, songwriter and record producer Kanye West has released four video albums and been featured in various music videos. He has also made cameo appearances in films and appeared in several television programs.
You may not know the name Ken Lewis, but you definitely know his tunes. Having worked as a major-label mix engineer, producer, songwriter, and musician for more than 20 years, Lewis has amassed a client list that reads like a “who’s who” of the music industry: Alicia Keys, Kanye West, Jay Z, Bruno Mars, Ariana Grande, fun, Mariah Carey, John Legend, Lenny Kravitz, David Byrne, and Lana Del Rey are just a few.
Southside uses the digital audio workstation, FL Studio along with custom installed VST plugins to compose his beats. Luellen's distinct signature trap sound is griity, grimy, and thunderous hip hop street sound which is similar to that of his collaborators, Lex Luger and his group 808 Mafia. Despite such similarities, Luellen's sound is distinctly known to be more gangster, bombastic, gritty, rambunctious, and menacing compared to that of his collaborators. Luellen is known for his dark, belligerent, and menacing hip hop sound coupled with hard hitting 808 kicks, crisp snare drums, fast hi-hats, frantic synthesizers, sinister lead instruments, and colorfully layered ominous orchestration of synthesized brass, hits, stringed, woodwind, and keyboard instruments. Like many other producers Southside uses a musical signature tag on many of the songs he has produced. His main tag is a pitched-up voice saying his name. He also uses his team tag, 808 Mafia and more recently, a sample of the Ironside (1967 TV series) theme song produced by Quincy Jones. Back in the beginning of his career, Southside claimed to complete a single beat in 15 to 30 minutes, but as of 2021, he claims to be able to make a single beat in less than 6 minutes and with no sound. He cites Lil Jon as his favorite producer and enjoys the production work made by Pharrell, Shawty Redd, and Drumma Boy. He is also influenced by the production works of Kanye West, Dr. Dre, Timbaland and Swizz Beatz.
Hip hop music has always been about the artist’s struggles, life stories, experiences, emotions and oppression. Atleast it started out that way. No clue what artists these days rap about. Yes I’m talking about you, Kanye West! While the jewelry these rappers don (or should I say flaunt) symbolize their status, power and wealth, it’s also a way of showing everyone how they overcame their struggles and are here wearing $1500 accessories. So it’s not just for aesthetic or looks, to them, it holds so much more meaning and value. A reminder of what they’ve achieved despite all odds.
These are the alpha males of the K-pop world, but with a twist. The proud owners of impressive six-packs, 2PM do sensitive Boys II Men-style harmonies just as well as their edgier rap repertoire. Heartbreak is the thread that runs through most of their music, but they have been known to produce a catchy party anthem or two. The band comprise Korean, Korean-American and Thai members, most of whom speak English, and are represented in the US by the same agency that looks after Mariah Carey, Kanye West and Justin Bieber. They are about to embark on a global tour, performing at venues in Europe, North America and Asia.

However, bafflingly, he still managed to secure a multi-million-dollar PPP loan last year to help pay the 160 employees of his whose jobs were allegedly in jeopardy amid the crashing economy. The Small Business Administration’s Paycheck Protection Program was intended to help companies with 500 or less employees stay afloat, and West’s literal billion-dollar company was somehow eligible for a loan to the tune of $2 to $5 million.

She is 4 years youthful than her pop singer sister, Jessica Simpson. Rapper Kanye Wests has built up a music catalog value $eighty million, however, these days he makes most of his money from his Yeezy attire line and sneaker partnership with Adidas.
This is the gauntlet thrown at the beginning of the “Yeezus” cycle. An ugly, gristly slab of Trent Reznor-esque Goth-pop, with Kanye standing resolute, unfurling haymaker after haymaker on an unexpecting America. When we watched him perform this song on "Saturday Night Live" in its live debut, it was proof that the fun and games were officially over. It never charted, it was never even released as a single.

Ducko is back again and we are loving it right now. Following his incredible blend of 21 Savage & Kanye West the producer returns with some new music for the weekend. This time around Ducko takes on some Rihanna and adds his signature style of flavour too it. “Sex With Me” is the single choice and Ducko slows things down this time around.

There used to be a site called Nude Overclockers (SFW, btw) which combined CPU performance tweaking with (virtual) nudity. So if one wants to combine their technology with prurient interests who's to stop them?
As for why Kanye might want to pirate Serum, which retails for $190/£140, that isn't clear. The artist has previously stated that, despite being one of the most successful artists of the last two decades, he's actually $53 million in debt.
At a somewhat disastrous South Carolina rally for his presidential campaign, Kanye revealed that Kim initially considered having an abortion when she was pregnant in 2021. He later posted multiple rants on Twitter about Kim and her family members and said he wanted to get a divorce.
Every single thing I see about this guy suggest he's dumber than a bag of rocks. Why does he continue to be supported and advertised? Managing to shoehorn himself into the scam that is popular music is hardly a reason.
Course Intro: Ladies and gentlemen, welcome back to another tutorial with your boy key Orion. I'm the man who is obsessed with making dope music and teaching you how to make your own. In this master class, I'm going to teach you step by step. How I use auto tune of my vocals how I've seen other engineers use auto tune on their vocals and then also how to pitch vocals. So this is something where if you are interested in, like t pain, you get those TPN effects with your vocals to get that like, super granular kind of machine sound. Or this also, maybe if you just want some that sounds a little bit more normal, but still want some help tuning your vocals? Another element of this course I'm gonna teach you how to tune your vocals and pitch them. So that means if your intellect rocky so like when he has those very deep vocals like When he pitches them way down like that. Or if you want like that, like Kanye West chipmunk type of sound, you'll be able to get those as well, so there to plug ins that I use when I'm tuning or pitching vocals. And then I also teach you how, if you was able to live, how to pitch these for free, with no plug ins in the program, how to pitch them up and down all that sort of stop.
Korean pop or abbreviation commonly used as K-pop refers to a conventional category that identifies music pieces originated in South Korea traditions, comprises a variety of elements in visual and musical trend referring to songs created by K-pop idols and their production and agencies that managed them. Musicians who have worked together with different K-pop idols include various African American rappers and hip hop artists, who became famous with their different own style performance like Kanye West, Snoop Dogg, Akon and many more.

But in 2021, West ended his partnership with Nike and said his share of the revenue from the shoes was insufficient. He began working with Adidas the following year.
In recent years, trainers have gained the same collectable status as wine or jewellery. Sotheby's held its first ever sale dedicated entirely to trainers in 2021.
When "Clueless" moved from cinema to the small screen, Stacey moved with it, staying in the role for the rest of the 1990s. She's had one off roles in a few TV shows since then, played Kanye West's girlfriend in a music video and racked up a number of film appearances, before reinventing herself somewhere around 2021. Since then she's appeared on Fox News, supported Republican causes, and unsuccessfully run for congress in California. She still looks fantastic, and we can't wait to see what she tries her hand at next.

Back in Roc-A-Fella's early 2000s heyday, Kanye and Just Blaze were credited with creating that sound, speeding up classic R&B and soul music tracks to fit faster tempos and create a nice distinction between the rapper and vocal sample respective pitches. It led to several Jay Z classics, most notably "This Can't Be Life" and "Heart Of The City," but by the time West put out College Dropout in 2004, his own compositions began surpassing the soulfulness of the '60s and '70s loops he employed. Outfitting tracks with live choirs, percussion, strings, West and a few key players (John Legend and hip hop violinist Miri Ben-Ari among them) made this music burst with life, passion, and struggle.
Commenting on Kanye's reaction, Khaled added: You know when you get this expression that it's sounding AMAZING

Kanye West is trending on Twitter right now, with most people commenting on his outstanding achievement after being named the richest Black man in American history. Presently valued at $6/6 billion USD, with more than half of that coming from his Yeezy empire, fans of the music mogul are reacting to the news with congratulatory statements. While that's the primary reason that Kanye is trending on Thursday, the chatter is supplemented by a more minimal conversation about his music, with much of it reportedly missing from Apple Music's streaming service.
Kanye West could now be worth more than $6 billion
What the album truly is, though, is the sum of all the best parts of watching Tyler grow up as an artist over the past decade. The chaotic, frantic energy of those early Odd Future days, during which the young creator was finding his sea legs as a producer, shines through in a more refined way on frenetic songs like “Igor’s Theme” and “What’s Good,” both lyrically and sonically. The diverse musical palette he’s been cultivating since childhood is apparent in both the album’s samples, which range from Run-DMC’s “Hit It Run” to Al Green’s “Dream,” and in its meticulously selected (but mostly understated) features, including Playboi Carti, Solange, Kanye West, Lil Uzi Vert, and comedian Jerrod Carmichael.
A wonderful, self-produced, carefully rapped ode to the legacies of Common, Talib Kweli, Big L, all those culturally correct icons. It parked at 15 on the Hot 100, and sometimes, sometimes, we all wish Kanye still sounded like this.
Image: think it works wonderfully well in the hands of Kellylee Evans, a singer from Canada who has just released her first recording the in US, I Remember When. What’s cool about Evans’ record is not just her warm and soulful voice, but also her choice of pop material: songs by Dr. Dre, Kanye West, Eminem, and John Legend. Evans broke out by snaring second place in 2004’s Thelonious Monk Jazz Vocal Competition, and she has recorded music associated with Nina Simone, among others. Here, sure, she sounds more like a soul singer.
As artists like Rick Ross and Kanye West grow more fabulously cartoonish and detached from reailty, figures like Keef appear as counterweights, couched in a disquieting form of authenticity. Rather than standing out as a shortcoming, the assaultive primitivism of his music and persona are the icing on the cake, further proof of this legitimacy, which allows fans to hold him up as a rough-edged, art-brut curio.

If we’re being honest, “Blood on the Leaves” co-opts a bloody, Jim Crowe-era protest song, sampled gorgeously from Nina Simone, so Kanye can rap about distrust of women. That’s a pretty bad look, but the sheer physical force of “Blood on the Leaves” is undeniable. Hudson Mohawke’s death march, the Auto-Tune, the bass?
No fan of Kanye, but there's really not enough to go on here. He actually gained a little of my respect for listening to Sufjan.
Keyshia M. Cole (October 15, 1981) is an American singer-songwriter, actress, producer and TV personality. A native to Oakland, California, Keyshia Cole kicked off her career when she collaborated with MC Hammer when she was 12 as well as with the late Tupac Shakur. She moved to Los Angeles when she was 18 as a young singer and later signed with A&M Records. Her debut album, ‘The Way It Is’ was released in 2004 with her single, ‘I Changed My Mind’ featuring Kanye West. The album sold 10 million copies in the US alone. Known for her sultry soprano vocals, Keyshia released her second album, ‘Just Like You’ in 2007 featuring popular hip-hop artists such as Diddy and R. Kelly. The album reached the number 2 spot that year on the Billboard 200 and was Grammy nominated for Best R&B Contemporary Album alongside one of the album’s singles ‘Let It Go’ nominated for Best Rap/Sung Collection. In the following year, Keyshia Cole’s single ‘Heaven Sent’, also off the ‘Just Like You’, received two Grammy nominations for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance and Best R&B Song. In 2008, she released her third album, ‘A Different Me’ which also debuted at number 2 on the Billboard 200 followed by her fourth, ‘Calling All Hearts’ in 2021 which peaked at number 9 on the Billboard 200. Keyshia’s love for music led her to releasing a fifth album, ‘Woman to Woman’ in 2021 followed by a sixth album, ‘Point of No Return’ in 2021.
All of this is to say that despite West’s failed presidential campaign, his waning relevance as a musician, and his boorish personality not winning him any favors with the entertainment press, the 43-year-old is way more financially successful now than ever before. Considering that he claimed to be $53 million in debt less than five years ago, that’s a feat worth recognizing.
Kanye has failed himself in the most hypocritical and spectacular way
Known for huge international hits like Gold Digger, Kanye West has been one of the biggest names in rap music for over 15 years. The Grammy-winning musician has also found success as a fashion designer.
The fact that there is so much news circulating about this "artist" and that everyone discusses him is part of the problem. Ignore him into irrelevance - my opinion.
Why has the interest evaporated? It comes down to a combination of general awards apathy as well as the VMAs’ specific failure to lead music and entertainment culture anymore, media analysts tell Rolling Stone. The show began as an envelope-pushing event that stole both audience and influence away from the overly-elite Grammys. But it hasn’t had a truly unexpected or culture-setting moment in several years — a stark contrast from its glamorous run in the Nineties and 2000s, when it championed controversial acts and had moments like Britney Spears’ near-nude performance and Kanye West’s Taylor Swift diss that were so iconic they still rattle around in the zeitgeist today.

His achievements range from releasing his first vinyl at 19 years old to selling out the legendary Red Rocks Ampitheatre in Colorado twice, notching up a UK top 10 hit with Sway and having Kanye West & Jay Z sample his dance floor anthem 'I Can't Stop' in addition to featuring in DJ Magazine's Top 100 DJ's 2021. Drawing influences from the likes of David Bowie, The Beatles and Frank Zappa, it was when he heard The Prodigy and The Chemical Brothers, he had found a musical direction he truly wanted to explore.
Born in June of 1977 in Atlanta, GA, Kanye spent his formative years living with his college professor mother in Chicago. He showed an early talent for writing poetry and began developing rap songs by the age of 13. After attending the American Academy of Art and Chicago State University, West dropped out of college to pursue a career in the music industry. He slowly built a reputation and resume as a music producer, and eventually landed at Roc-A-Fella Records in the early 2000s. Soon he found himself developing songs for big named artists (including Ludacris, Alicia Keys, and most notably Jay-Z). He established a name for himself through his contributions to Jay-Z's The Blueprint album in 2001. Knowing that he was a rapper at heart rather than a producer, Kanye began shopping around his own work. After creating his mixtape, Through The Wire, he eventually broke onto the music scene with his album, The College Dropout in 2003-2004.

Kid Cudi has a guest feature on Kanye West's 2008 album, 808s & Heartbreak, singing with him on the track Welcome To Heartbreak, providing additional vocals on Paranoid with Mr Hudson and helped with songwriting on the second single Heartless. A music video has been made and released for Welcome to Heartbreak with him in it. He also featured on the song Welcome 2 the World with Kevin Rudolf from his album In The City, and on 88-Keys debut album The Death of Adam on the track Ho' is Short for Honey.
Kanye West is Now Worth $6.6 Billion
Nobody is ever going to be able to make Kanye West's new songs their own. Not that he'd care, but his latest album, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, has done his chances of a Theme Week no good at all. The tracks on it may feature a hundred guests but they are incorrigibly, jealously his. One of the points of the record, in fact, is that only he could have made it. West has skilfully used his many channels – Twitter, blogs, videos – to present his existence as grotesquely rarefied, a decadent tapestry of furs and goblets, lust and perfectionism. And because he's made sure we all know he's possessed of this unique, stratospheric perspective, it feels more like art when he sings from it. Doubly so when he then undermines it.
His GOOD debut was an inimitable verse on “Mercy”, which also starred West and two other newly shined GOOD stars, Big Sean and Pusha T. The track’s stylised video features all four artists in a monochrome parking lot in Qatar, decked out in black and leather and shadows. While in Qatar, 2 Chainz, Big Sean and Pusha T took part in the Kanye-directed Cruel Summer, which debuted at Cannes Film Festival this year, and will feature heavily on its soundtrack, GOOD Music’s first label compilation.
You can pretty much name any big artist and they’ve had an album leak in advance of its sale date. Somewhat recently, it was Kanye West and his Yeezus album (and even his music video for Black Skinhead leaked ahead of time). A$AP Rocky’s LongLiveA$AP leaked a month early. The White Stripes album Icky Thump leaked 20 days early. U2’s 2004 album How to Dismantle An Atomic Bomb was on illegal downloading sites ahead of its release. Both Big Boi and Drake have fallen victim to leaks in recent years. Surprisingly, people even want the Nickelback album ahead of its street date. The list is very long – basically, everyone has been a victim of this.

This album is also probably Lamar’s most gimmicky album. The album cover and title are quite atrocious, and the track list format is unnecessary. All the track titles and the album title are made of one fully capitalized word with a period at the end. It’s like the musical equivalent of a teenager trying to create a matching “feed” on Instagram. Traditional titles would’ve been more powerful. Also, this album is stylistically messy, but not to the extent of an album like Kanye West’s The Life of Pablo.
Kanye West has made enough statements about freedom, slavery, and “choices” to last a lifetime. But he has a legitimate case to make in his legal “fight for freedom” from EMI Music Publishing.
Jay-Z & Kanye West - Road To The Throne
The first American artists that really inspired me were Kanye West & Drake, I played their music and albums on repeat. T-Pain & Chris Brown got me in to R&B. Dutch artists like Hef & De Jeugd van Tegenwoordig got me into Dutch Hip hop. The SLBMG mixtape from Yayo, Spacekees & Sef was my favourite tape for years. Through that I discovered the DJ culture and found out about Vic Crezée & The Flexican. I started listening to their DJ sets. Besides that rappers like Ronnie Flex, Cho, Idaly, SMIB, Ray Fuego & The Veldentaal were/are a great inspiration for me. I checked out a lot of 101 barz Sessions & Cyphers. After discovering all these artists & albums I wanted to be a rapper and a DJ myself. The last few years I think I got heavily influenced by Young Thug, Future & Playboi Carti. Right now I find myself digging in a lot of different genres besides hiphop.

For this project, music icons and pop culture visionaries JAY-Z and Kanye West have joined their extraordinary talents to form the group `THE THRONE and confirm the most anticipated album and touring event of the year, WATCH THE THRONE. The longtime friends and music innovators inspired each other to new heights with their collaboration on WATCH THE THRONE recorded in person at various locations around the world. Over a year in the making and a truly global affair, the duo recorded in London and Bath in the UK, Abu Dhabi, Sydney, Paris, and New York City. Though shrouded in secrecy, the album has already been heralded a `masterpiece by those who have heard it, and features production from The RZA, The Neptunes and Kanyes longtime collaborator Mike Dean. The short list of featured vocals includes Frank Ocean, BeyoncР№, Curtis Mayfield and Mr. Hudson.
The single comes from Cleveland-based Apostolic church the Original Glorious Church of God in Christ. It’s a 7-inch record with two songs on each side of the vinyl.
Kanye West’s fifth album, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, has had the most extravagant press campaign in musical history behind it. There’s been outbursts on chat shows and Twitter, there’s been nude pictures, there’s been surprise performances at Facebook’s office and over the tannoy on a Delta Airlines flight. There’s not been videos; instead, we’ve had a thirty minute film (‘Runaway’) and a “moving portrait” (‘Power’). The entire build-up has been obscene.
The groupthink mentality on Ars is simply amazing! All you have to do is say something vaguely divergent of the status-quo and the downvotes will come in hard and fast.
Starting with artists like the Beastie Boys and LL Cool J, Def Jam helped put Hip Hop on the world map. It started with Russell Simmons, the older brother of Run-DMC's Joey Simmons, who went from promoting Hip Hop parties in the 70s to promoting some of Hip Hop's most inflential rappers in the 80s and 90s. While today Def Jam belongs to Universal, they still continue to be a leader in Hip Hop music, promoting some of the culture's most popular artists like 2 Chainz, Q-Tip and Kanye West.
We can start on what Keef’s done to prove his real ignorance dating before the past few days, though. The most obvious early example of Keef’s lack of judgement deals with Kanye West Remix itself. Those who regularly keep up with hip hop’s top headlines probably recall Young Chop being unhappy with the remix. Despite a Young Chop watermark still left on the song, Chop was still upset by a lack of cooperation from Kanye and GOOD Music.

In 2009, Cudi, alongside record producers Plain Pat and Emile Haynie, launched Dream On, a record label in partnership with Universal Motown and Kanye West's GOOD Music. In October 2021, Cudi had announced he was teaching himself how to play the guitar and the he would be forming a rock band, now internationally known as WZRD, with frequent collaborator and longtime friend, record producer Dot da Genius. On February 26, 2021, Cudi announced that the Dream On label had been dissolved due to differences. In April 2021, while performing at New York City's Roseland Ballroom, Cudi announced he was launching his very own label, Wicked Awesome Records. WZRD ultimately released their eponymous debut album on February 28, 2021. Likewise, Hello Nasty was considered a remarkable achievement upon release in 1998 as, until then, nobody had ever heard a hip hop album with so much variety. The album seemed destined to become a classic along the lines of Paul's Boutique and Licensed to Ill. Over time, however, its critical standing has significantly diminished, thanks to the work of rappers like Kanye West (whose music has the same kind of variety but with more focus). It's now considered by most to be one of the band's weaker albums.
It was clear after “The College Dropout” that Kanye could coast on his sped-up soul sampling sound for at least a few more albums. Yet, word came out he had been listening to Portishead and Fiona Apple and got the idea to work on more layered, orchestral-driven music with Jon Brion. For as celebrated as West was with his debut album, there was no indication that he could pull such a thing off.
Grammy-winning rapper Kanye West, Tekashi 6ix9ine and Nicki Minaj are all leveling up in a major way. New reports claim the trio have united in Los Angeles for new music.
At a time when many Americans are suffering under the pandemic economy, Yeezy’s business has been booming. Sales for his Adidas sneakers increased 31% last year (bringing in $1/7 billion in annual revenue), and his Gap partnership that’s set to launch by July is expected to rake in $150 million in its first year.
As mentioned in the Ludacris blurb, The Neptunes (Pharrell Williams and Chad Hugo) were crafting a new sound in the early 2000s that changed rap (and pop music overall) forever, and though they produced songs for tons of artists, their closest relationship was with fellow Virginia Beach duo Clipse, aka brothers Pusha T and No Malice. The Neptunes produced all the music on Lord Willin', one of the truly original debut albums of the 2000s. The Neptunes' bright, multi-layered, rhythmic production sounded like a futuristic beach dance party, but Push and Malice's raps were as cold and deadly as anything coming out of New York. As with El-P, there's a different appeal to early Clipse records today than there was at the time because of the revitalized career Pusha T has had ever since hooking up with Kanye West in the 2010s (which so far hit its highest peak with 2021's Daytona). He's one of the best rappers in the world right now, which seems all the more impressive when you remember he was putting out classics two decades ago.
Music News Kanye West
The most acclaimed American musician of 21st century, Kanye West is also well known as record producer and fashion designer. As one of the most sold artists of all time, he has the maximum number of Grammy Awards with debuting only in this century. The outspoken and the controversial star was always in headlines for his stormy behavior both on the stage and off stage. But his albums My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy’, ‘Yeezus’ and ‘Only One’ are just enough to unveil his musical talents. Along with the musical career, he is also a fashion icon. He had collaborations with prominent brands Nike, Adidas, Louis Vuitton and Yeezy. He is married to the TV celebrity Kim Kardashian and have two children. In 2021, he released his seventh album, ‘Life of Pablo’. Being one of the most awarded artists of all time, Kanye West is the holder of 21 Grammy Awards. Let’s explore the words of this most successful musician of the 21st century.
Kanye has yet to publicly comment on his marriage breakdown
Beyonce, Eminem, Britney Spears and Taylor Swift all won Moonmen at Sunday's 2009 MTV Video Music Awards the latter much to the chagrin of Kanye West. But what's an award show without some controversy from the rapper?
Activities on the property include a shooting range, guided fishing, horseback riding on trails, rimrock geology and cattle ranching. The property also includes two freshwater trophy fishing lakes.
CyHi the Prynce is an MC from Atlanta, Georgia & this is long awaited full-length debut. The album opens with “Amen”, where CyHi’s talking about staying in your environment over a fittingly churchy instrumental. The next track is the title track, where he & fellow GOOD Music signee Pusha T talks about trappin’ another other day than the Lord’s day & the beat change from Lex Luger is phenomenal. The song “Get Yo Money” speaks on the drug game over an eerie instrumental & the track “Movin’ Around” with ScHoolboy Q isa weed anthem with a decent trap beat. The track “Trick Me” gets braggadocious over a mellow piano instrumental& the 2 Chainz verse isn’t all that bad. The song “Murda” talks about life in the streets over a decent reggae instrumental while the track “Don’t Know Why”gets conscious over a somewhat spacey instrumental. Also, the Jagged Edge feature on here is pretty great as well. The song“God Bless” is pretty much about being thankful & I️ absolutely love how it samples my favorite Roy Ayers song “Searching”. The track “Dat Side” with his mentor Kanye West sees the 2 attacking their haters over a dreary instrumental while the song “Looking for Love” is a self-explanatory love song with a decent trap beat & a mediocre auto-tune hook. The song “Nu Africa” gets pro-black over a nice boom bap beat & the track “Free” seems to be a diss towards Def Jam Recordings over a dreamy instrumental.

An iconic symbol of the music industry since 1931, Abbey Road Studios has set the stage for countless landmark recordings by artists such as The Beatles, U2, Frank Ocean, Kanye West, and Radiohead – to name just a few. Now is your chance to step inside those famed four walls, pick up the sticks, and make your mark with an expansive selection of epic percussive samples and ready to go Groove Libraries. Recorded with vintage gear, timeless techniques, and the Abbey Road sound engineer’s expert knowledge – ABBEY ROAD DRUMMER COLLECTION is the essential drum sound package.
CLEVELAND, Ohio – Kanye West lives in a fantasy world. One where he can go from being a (sometimes) crude rapper to making gospel music. One where he can write a song like “Who Will Survive in America” and then support Donald Trump.
The irresistible song catapulted his career to a new level, certifying his authority as a connector and orchestrator of the most prominent people in music. Does it matter that these artists are incredibly competitive? No, because Khaled convinced them to put that aside and participate. Superstars like Jay Z, Kanye West, Drake, Flo Rida, Nicki Minaj, Future, and John Legend are serial collaborators too.
Veteran producer / remixer / engineer J. Chris Griffin's experience and credentials in many ways speak for themselves. His 20+ years in the music industry based out of both New York City and Nashville have garnered him production and engineering credits from A-list recording artists such as Madonna, Kanye West, Janet Jackson, Kelly Clarkson, The Killers, Missy Elliot, John Legend and many more. Having consistently charted several billboard top ten singles and countless other hit tracks, his clients have come to swear by his talents in tracking, vocal coaching, producing and mixing radio-ready, A-List music.
Since the album was originally only available through streaming service Tidal, Kanye could edit his album with ease. Yet, although the album release caused the app’s subscriber count to double in two days, the streaming figures were not reported to Nielson Music and thus did not contribute to the Billboard charts. With Billboard claiming it could have sold up to 400,000 copies in that time if sold conventionally, Kanye West’s unilateralism may have been detrimental. Although evolved versions exist, the clunky first edition is to this day the most actively circulated version on file sharing service The Pirate Bay since the album received 500,000 downloads through BitTorrent in the first two days. Despite originally proclaiming that TLOP will never be on iTunes or in CD form, it was eventually fully distributed in April and instantly hit number one in the Billboard album charts. But with the album still changing, what does this mean fro music critics? Should the album’s reviews be updated as frequently as the music itself? West has the answer himself of course: “This is not album of the year.
The mixtape appeared on several music critics' and publications' end-of-year albums lists. Controversy arose in March 2021 over the song "American Wedding", a remake of the song "Hotel California" by American rock band Eagles. Recording artist Kanye West was reportedly a fan of the mixtape, which led to Ocean appearing on the album Watch the Throne. Subsequently, Ocean collaborated with artists Beyoncé Knowles and Jay-Z after they were introduced to the mixtape through West. Following its release, both Ocean and the mixtape have developed a cult following. The mixtape was followed by the release of Ocean's debut album Channel Orange to similar critical acclaim in 2021.
This is MBDTF’s resigned equivalent, with Kanye mumbling face down in a slurry of synths, cocaine and regret
It’s hard to remember now, but Kanye buried himself deep underground and out of sight following the great Taylor Swift/VMAs debacle. Well, underground isn’t quite right — he was in Hawaii. But when he did finally resurface in 2021, with “Power,” it seemed incomprehensible that we’d spent the previous handful of years without him. Yeezy is one of the few rappers in the world who can take a King Crimson sample all the way to 22 in the Hot 100. Let’s hope he keeps that fire stoked.
Having written songs for artists like Beyoncé, John Legend, and even Justin Bieber, Odd Future‘s lead songbird had his own debut project shelved by his label. Once his disgruntled demeanor turned to full-on anger, Mr. Frank Ocean put the album out on his Tumblr page. Nostalgia, Ultra is everything a project should be for a man who endured a terrible breakup, has self-diagnosed synesthesia (the ability to see sound in colors), and can write lyrics from the deepest walls of his heart. While “Novacane” was a track about begging for numbness, Ocean’s fan base felt everything he was saying. Even Hip Hop’s vets joined the movement, as Ocean appeared on Jay-Z and Kanye West‘s Watch the Throne, and Ocean is working with Nas on new music as well. Of course, there are the collabs with his OFWGKTA constituents, but for a guy who sings abstract Soul, Frank Ocean gets the major Hip Hop cosign.

He’s since done some public relations tidying up, and we can only hope that the artist capable of helming an album like DAYTONA and delivering a song like “Ghost Town” will leave the little, red hat and superhero cape at home and go back to being an undeniable “genius” in the recording studio.
Saturday Night Live might have a storage closet full of Emmys, but it might want to collect on some music royalties. For the second time in two years, Kanye West was a musical guest on the show and dropped an album in the process.

CHICAGO, IL — In November of last year, the organization Donda's House acquired the childhood home of Kanye West, located on South Shore Drive near Clarks Point. According to a post on the Donda's House website, the group met with an architect who recommended tearing down the house after finding "significant" structural damage. The architect said it would cost more to salvage than to completely rebuild.

All of us here love the art of sampling and Kanye West Is widely known as one of the greatest in this art form. If you can't at least have some appreciation for sampling then I think you need to ask an admin to deactivate your account on this site and stop coming to stop coming to Whosampled.com. If you don't like sampling I don't see why your even on this site in the first place except to troll and promote Peven Everrett's music.
Kanye West shows his appreciation for those involved in his success in major ways. This past weekend, the GOOD Music (https://dybdoska.ru/hack/?patch=3970) President, gave a live concert to the daughter of George Condo, designer of “My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy” album cover. Hired for the one night, the Kanye West (about his) show was a night to remember.
But then the damn thing dropped and wouldn’t you know, the forgotten member of GOOD Music, the one most of us had written off ages ago, turned out to have the dopest (pun definitely intended) project of any Kanye West-affiliated artist this year. After CyHi released the high-spirited “Elephant In The Room” in 2021, the general consensus among fans was that his tenure as part of the GOOD Music stable of artists was over. However, No Dope On Sundays still bears that iconic logo, and even better, the cohesive, textured sound that the label has become known for over the past decade.

The fellas reflect as Ross One was one of the first guests on the podcast almost a year ago. Ross talks about doing production, as well as his infamous video "Keep It Moving", in which Crooked stated "Changed the way DJs make videos". Ross goes on to express his opinion on the Fatman Scoop/Crooklyn Clan situation. Crooked does a live call-in with DJ Sizzahandz in response to Scoop. Ross One discusses the current state of New York hip hop, and the buzz generating in the city. The crew evaluates the new Lil' Pump and Kanye West single "I Love It". Ross gives his opinion on the Nicky Minaj vs Cardi B beef, as he was there in attendance during New York fashion week. The crew also breaks down with Ross One the "Bobby Brown" special, and his place in music history.
West is a superb producer, and – as the Guardian's Dorian Lynskey has pointed out – there are enough ideas on the album to awe a listener into accepting it quickly as a masterpiece and perhaps repent it at leisure afterwards. But a lot of the praise for the album has centred on West's self‑knowledge: he's a needy douchebag, but he admits it and sings from the experience. For me this is the least appealing thing about the record – noisily admitting your sins doesn't lessen the sins, it just keeps the spotlight on you. On the other hand, the purest expression of this on My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy – the nine-minute pity-party Runaway – is also its catchiest and most resonant moment.
It would be convenient to say that ye fails because of his persona. It remains unclear exactly when West lost the map: Perhaps it was recently, or perhaps he has always been an ideologue representing nothing more or less than the hyper-individualist dogma of Kanye West. Until this year, the music had always been great enough to ostensibly eclipse the man himself, had we wanted that.
Big Sean is a 32 year old rapper, singer & songwriter from Detroit, Michigan coming up as a protege of Chicago icon Kanye West & signing to his Def Jam Recordings imprint GOOD Music. He generated some buzz in the late 2000s by dropping the Finally Famous mixtape trilogy, but it wouldn’t be until 2021 when his profile significantly increased when Sean dropped a 4th installment as his full-length debut. This was followed up the next year with the highly acclaimed Detroit mixtape & then a sophomore album the year after that entitled Hall of Fame.
For years, we were waiting for Kanye West to fail. Each album seemed more absurd in its ambition and rollout, and eventually things did buckle under it all. Yeezus was the last time he undeniably proved us wrong. A caustic noise-rap reinvention and ego dissection, it’s the nasty core of the era in which West could do no wrong (musically) and seemed to be three steps ahead of everyone else. With heart palpitation drums and a visceral rap, “Black Skinhead” instantly became one of the most shocking, addicting, and straight-up best songs in an often visionary career. All these years later, including the mess of West’s career recently, it’s a reminder of how vital and untouchable he seemed for a time.
